2016 Black nor easter in June, saw the biggest North East swell in possibly a generation or more. With a huge, persistent fetch of gale / storm force Nth winds coming from beyond Fiji down the Eastern seaboard and then slamming into Freycinet with full force. For the ocean observers and surfers, the swell forecast that day was 8 metres @ 18 seconds from the North East. Unheard of numbers for this coastline.
